What is BC Cares?
BC Cares is a program that was designed by the BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) in 2007 to recruit care aides into the growing seniors care sector. Initially developed as a pilot with the Fraser Health Authority, BC Cares became a province-wide initiative in 2009-2009.

Proposals sought for employment readiness program
A new posting on BC Bid seeks qualified service providers across the province to help British Columbians gain the skills needed to find and keep employment.
Successful proponents will deliver the Job Options BC program in communities across the province, providing unemployed British Columbians who are non-Employment Insurance clients with employment-focused activities. Job Options BC specifically focuses on individuals who can benefit from group-based programming, with services including counselling, resumeĢ writing, interview techniques, job-search skills, short-term certificate training and work experience placements.
Interested service providers can review the request for proposal online through BC Bid (www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca) and have until 2 p.m. (Pacific daylight time) on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 to submit their proposals.
Delivery of services through the Job Options BC program is expected to start in October
Job Options BC is funded through the Canada-B.C. Labour Market Agreement.
