What is BC Cares?
BC Cares is a program that was designed by the BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) in 2007 to recruit care aides into the growing seniors care sector. Initially developed as a pilot with the Fraser Health Authority, BC Cares became a province-wide initiative in 2009-2009.

This site supports the delivery of the BC Cares training and education partnership that has been developed to ensure BC's health care system has a sustainable supply of seniors' care providers. It provides access the statistical data, important links and project updates. A project committee of employers, health officials, care providers and unions has develop a comprehensive analysis of the long term human resource needs of the seniors care and implementing a series of recommendations based on feedback from an extensive consultation process that has taken place over the past year.
